3 life lessons from when Seth Godin met Tim Ferriss
In this cracking episode of the The Tim Ferriss Show, Tom sits down with a hero of mine, Mr Seth Godin. Seth is an author of 17 bestselling books on marketing, leadership and challenging accepted norms.
1. On impact. Have a say in this world. Start a blog. Seth regards starting his blog as in the top 5 best business decisions he has ever made (This was the final nudge I needed to start this one).
2. On money. Do NOT forget that, once you're basic hygiene factors have been met (food/health/warmth), money is simply a vehicle for experience and contributes to telling you're story. It is not always correct to assume money directly represents net value add to the world.
3. On drive. Use rejection to move you forwards. Seth was told by his English teacher 'you are the bane of my existence - you will never write anything worth reading'. He sent this teacher a signed copy of a best seller of his.
